gonna get on his boiler room mix now, cheers for the heads up!
@movement - who was kicking up a fuss? its annoying no tracklist, but i FULLY understand why you wouldn't give one out - its your sound at the end of the day! gotta protect that!
@VersionDouble Basically he posted a tweet saying 'to everyone asking for a tracklist, jog on!' or something. Some people got mad. Some at the wording, some at the whole idea that he wouldn't give out a tracklisting. I don't think he should HAVE to do anything, for basically the same reason you've given, though the wording might have been a little antagonistic. My friend put it well when he said 'he's essentially telling people that have the audacity to actually like his music to fuck off'. Maybe a bit strong but I see the point. I'm not too bothered really. I find I listen to untracklisted mixes right the way through more often than ones with a readily available tracklist as well.
@movement - yeh seen I understand what your friend was saying about telling people who like his music to fuck off, agree the wording could of been better.
also agree re: the lack of tracklisting making a mix more attractive, ive tonnes of old liquid dnb mixes that i'll NEVER find out the track listing for but i sitll listen all the way through 5 years on... its quite mysterious and almost romantic, in a way.
Best FACT mix of 2011 so far for me. So so good. Did you see the twitterstorm that followed his comments about not giving a tracklist?
ReplyDeleteYesyes, definitely a seriously big mix!
ReplyDeletecheck out the boiler room session. Proper stuff right there!

Will give this a go, dislike the majority of stuff FACT seem to push though.

ReplyDeleteAs in, I come back to those mixes and listen again right the way through, heh. Don't want to make it look like I rarely get through a whole mix haha!
ReplyDeleteGonna jump on this. Heard the guy's name being thrown around a lot. Time I get to know.
ReplyDeleteYou DEFINITELY need to get to know. Man's great behind the decks too.
ReplyDeleteNice, missed this somehow, cheers!
